Random Babble: Bore

The word 'Bore' has a lot of connotations. All connotations can be found in a dictionary. So why am I doing it here? Because I can and I am plain bored.

  1. Bore: To be a bore. Someone who has the ability to spread boredom. This should not be mistaken for a superpower. It is more common than you can imagine.
Illustration: The author finds some of his posts a bore.

  2. Bore: Bore is used to define the diameter of a tube or tunnel or anything circular. Its associated more to a hole. Gun barrels also are identified using the bore. No Calibre is different, this is more related to the barrel.
Illustration: The bore of the barrel of the gun pointed at your face is directly related to your ability to hold your bladder.

  3. Bore: Bore is also a sort of digging term related to the process of digging into something. It perhaps obvious since Bore seems to like tunnels and holes. Its only natural to associate itself to the process of digging too.
Illustration: The termite bore holes in my books which was fine with me as they were my study books and not my Playboy collection.

  4. Bore: Bore is one of the wordeas (sort of district) of Ethopia. Bore must be a hole on earth by the sound of it.
Illustration: Look for a black hole in Ethopia.

Bore is also used with other words to express other Boring connotations.

  5. Bore dom: Its what a Bore brings in.
Illustration: Look at what Boredom does to you. Makes me write a post on boredom and makes you read on one.

  6. Tidal Bore: A very high wave caused by a tidal flow. This is more because of tidal waves colliding with each other. Sometimes if a person is a Colossal Bore then he or she can be termed a Tidal Bore.
Illustration: What better than an Image

  7. Bore Upon: The phrase bore upon means "have an effect upon". It means to take be impacted or effected due to some event, action or whatever.
Illustration: The need for sending me to the asylum bore upon my parents after seeing me dance naked in the fountain in the middle of Central Park and then peeing on dogs, standing on one leg.

Who decides they are extinct?

T his question might pop up in your mind. If not there is no harm in thinking for once. Who in the whole world decides that a certain species is endangered or extinct? It vexed me. After some research and it was evident that there are many local agencies authorized by the local governing bodies to conduct research and surveys to find the population density and frequency of sightings and so on of species in a particular location. But there exists an International body whose responsibility is to keep a track of the conservation status of species and subspecies including plants and animals. This is known as International Union for the Conservation of Nature and Natural Resources (IUCN). As one of the oldest and also the largest environment network, IUCN has over 1000 professionals, 11,000 volunteer scientists, 60 offices and numerous partners across the world. Like many other record keeping organizations and keepers of numbers, metrics and NGOs, IUCN is located near Geneva, Switzerland. I...

Beauty lies in Nothingness

Most beautiful things in life are experienced in Nothingness. The beauty of the mountains are best experienced when one stands at the edge of a cliff and looks at the valley below to see nothing but a thick mattress of white cotton clouds. You see nothing yet feel the beauty of nature. The beauty of the meadows are best experienced in silence. Not a single sound around, just the speech of nature which in itself is nothing but silence. Wind whispering nothing, grass waving in silence, trees dancing in silence. The most beautiful moments of your life are those that you spend with your soul-mate sitting together in absolute silence on that beach staring into the sea. Sharing everything without saying a word...the beauty lies in the lack of speech...it lies in nothingness.
